Hide and Seek

When I noticed the linen closet in my bathroom didn't have any towels, I ran to the other one to grab one for my shower. I had left Ashton on the floor of my bedroom, and when I came back I couldn't see him. After walking into the bathroom I noticed a tiny foot sticking out of the closet that I had left open. I guess he found a new place to play and hide. He enjoys pulling himself up to everything. He especially likes opening up drawers and peeKing inside to see what he can pull out. Yes we have bought child locks for the cupboards and drawers, just haven't installed them yet.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

It truly feels like Christmastime now. Since Thanksgiving, we have slowly turned the house into decorating central with a nativity here, and a Santa Clause there, but now the tree completes it all. It was fun watching Ashton's reaction to the bright lights and shiny ornaments. Notice his "touchdown" stocking in the top picture. Tommy and I have such great holiday memories from growing up- decorating trees and gingerbread houses, shopping and wrapping gifts, keeping secret Santa gifts secret, and just being together around this special time of year. I hope that we can make the same memories for our family, and instill in our kid(s) the true spirit of Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. This is the first time in 3 years that I was able to spend it with my family. We drove to Wyoming on Wednesday afternoon, and then headed to Utah the next morning. We spent Thanksgiving at my Grandmas house in Morgan and had a very yummy dinner. It was fun to see everyone and catch up. The next day we had fun shopping, but unfortunately my Dad had to go to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing. Luckily it wasn't anything too bad, just a lot of congestion in his lungs that was definitely making it hard for him to breathe. They were at the hospital from 12:30 til about 6:30, so it was a long day. We were able to take my little brother and sisters out for lunch, and then we went and visited my Great Grandma Monson. She was so happy to see everyone and get to visit for a while. On Saturday Tommy, my Dad and brother Jameson were able to go to the BYU/ Utah game thanks to Tommy's brother Jeff who plays for BYU. They had great tickets, and after the game were able to go meet the players and Jameson got a football signed by a lot of them. I think it was the highlight of his Thanksgiving weekend. Now it's time for Christmas decorations, shopping, and parties. I love this time of year. Happy Holiday's everyone!

Our neighborhood

Today the weather was absolutely perfect-blue skies, and a cool breeze. I love the neighborhood we live in. As you can see from the pictures above the views we have are amazing. There are so many different trails and routes to take it's so much fun. Ashton and I try to get out for a walk every afternoon. He has so much fun and loves looking around and being out in the fresh air. We enjoy our time together on our walks and often see rabbits on the golf course, lizards, and an occasional deer. I'm starting to dread the snow because our walks will probably be put on hold...I guess there's always a sled ha ha ;)

Cookies anyone?

I LOVE these cookies. Now I'm not usually a big frosting eater, so that usually eliminates things like cake, oreos, cupcakes etc. But these homemade oreos are sooooo amazing! My Mom made them when I was younger, and I just recently asked her for the recipe. Why is took me so long to ask for it is still yet to be determined, but I will make up for lost "cookie" time. They are a hit with everyone who tries them. Ashton and I decided to make this last batch with colorful frosting just for fun. I think we've found our new favorite family treat!

Where do you belong?

You Belong in London

A little old fashioned, and a little modern.
A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock.
A unique soul like you need a city that offers everything.
No wonder you and London will get along so well.

What City Do You Belong In?

I doubt that I'll ever live in London, but it would be great to visit. Seems a bit too dreary for me though... Where do you belong?

Mission accomplished

Mission: To plan, prepare and carry out Young Women in Excellence 2007.
Status:
Passed with flying colors (whew)!

As I mentioned before, I was called into Young Women's as the personal progress leader. One of my major projects was to be responsible for Young Women in Excellence. Our theme was "Things I've Learned" and was based around a school atmosphere. After much planning, preparing, cutting, printing, purchasing, gluing, baking, assembling, talk writing, late nights, phone calls, and don't let me forget fun, the night turned out amazing. I was so impressed and proud with all of the girls and their projects. It was a long day of setting up and taking down and a lot of effort and time was put into this night. I do have to say I'm a little glad to be done. I feel like I can breathe a little more, and enjoy not having that night on my mind 24/7. I am so thankful for this calling. It has helped me get to know so many great women in our ward (not to mention potential babysitters) and the girls are such good examples for me. I didn't get great pictures of the props we used but just think classroom.

Next Mission: New Beginnings January 2008.
Status: To be announced :)
