Taman Safari

Headed out to the safari-Tommy was in the front seat with our driver so he missed the selfie

Cooper fell asleep using my hand as a head rest

This was the zebra that Tommy was feeding. He almost took our curtains with him!

Meeting and touching the elephants

Ashton holding the orangutan-He was very wiggly

Weston's turn!

Nixon said " he is going night night" when he saw this picture

Nixon and the orangutan. They were both about the same size

The boys held a sleepy baby tiger

All of the boys posing for a picture (and Tommy swatting away a "big bee")

Riding the elephant

Nixon and Ashton!

Over the boys' fall break, we ventured out to the Taman Safari. Basically, you drive through a jungle-a literal jungle.
There are no gates, no cages, no fences. Merely signs that say "don't get out of your car" or "don't feed these animals".
At one point, while the boys were throwing carrots into a hippos mouth, I looked out my window to the other side of the street and there was a bunch of alligators just hanging out. Nice.
We drove around eating our packed lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from the safety of our car. We saw elephants, many deer and caribou, zebras, hippos, alligators, tigers, bears, giraffes, kangaroos, camels, llamas, lions and probably more that I am missing.
After the driving part was over, we parked and went to more of the "petting zoo". They had elephants, orangutans and tigers to hold. Cooper didn't want anything to do with any of it, and even opted out of riding on the elephant.
All in all it was a really fun experience!
