Our Kindergartener :D

Saying bye to Weston-he will start school next week!

Walking with daddy to the bus

Waiting for Ashton to arrive home

The bus driver walking him across the street (greeted by Weston)

Look at that smile! I would say he had a wonderful day!

This is outside of the Kindergarten building. This is the day Ashton met his teacher.

WOW! Our Ashton has officially begun his school career. We couldn't be happier with the school he is going to and he already seems at home there. He hopped on the bus Monday morning with a huge smile on his face and never looked back.

This is what Ashton told us about his first day...

"I was the line leader today. I loved playing in the gym. I met a new friend named Lucas. Today there were 3 boys and 2 girls in my class. We played with the iPads and computers. I went to Japanese class and learned ohayou-that means good morning!"
(he goes to Japanese class everyday for an hour)

His class has a total of 12 kids. They split them the first 2 days of school so that the groups were smaller. There are 3 kindergarten classes (red, yellow and blue) and there are 4 embassy kids at the kindergarten so Ashton has some friends to ride the bus with. The kindergarten is across the street from the main campus at N.I.S., but they walk over for assemblies and P.E.
We are excited for Ashton to be in school, especially at Nishimachi. We think it will be a great foundation for his education.

Proof to my sis!

Coop sneezing it up!

My sister called yesterday and it was fun visiting with her. We got to talking about how big the twins are getting and she asked if we had "Bumbo" chairs for them. She preceded to inform me of the recent recall on all bumbo chairs and also told me that her 2 e.r. nurse sister in laws always stress the danger of the bumbo chairs and how many injured babies they have seen because of them.
Tommy and I opted to not get the Bumbos because of all of the complaints and research done about how tipsy they are.
Instead we got the Bebe Pods that have a much wider base. They have been great so far-no complaints.
So sister, here is Cooper modeling his pod chair! No bumbos here!

Some fun updates :)

A fun pic with each of my boys!

This morning, Tommy and I were able to go with Ashton to his school for a bit. We took a taxi (he thought that was pretty cool) and then spent the morning with him. After lunch I was able to take Weston down to the pool just the 2 of us. It was nice getting one on one time with him. And he is quite the swimmer!
Ashton also taught himself how to ride a 2 wheeler this last week. His friend Grant let him ride his bike and he figured it out!

It's been a busy week. We are ready for the weekend. And school starting very soon! The boys keep watching for their new school clothes to arrive :) Happy weekend!

Nandamo Festival

The boys play (almost daily) at a children's center called Nandamo. A few weekends ago, they had a festival and we enjoyed the day there. There were games, food, activities and performances. Notice the babies strollers-we have started taking out 2 single strollers and it has been so much easier. They fit on the trains, elevators, escalators etc. Ashton can even push them so that is helpful. The double stroller is good around the compound, but when we are venturing out for the weekend, we prefer the singles.
The boys also got a surprise from daddy. Tommy had remembered some trains that he use to get here in Japan when he was little and he picked some up for the boys.

Homemade play dough

We  I love Pinterest around here. Mainly because of all the yummy treat recipes, but also for the fun projects they we find. Yesterday (while Virginia took care of the babies) we made play dough and spent time just the 3 of us. Ashton chose to make green and Weston chose yellow. We all had fun stirring, mixing and playing with our finished project. It was a fun activity and we had a great time together.

I think they like it :)

**pictures taken by Ashton on my phone

Although I will continue to nurse the babies until they are at least a year old, we thought that some cereal would be fun to try today! They both really liked it and were begging for more. Ashton and Weston didn't care much for baby food and basically went from nursing to table food. We will see if the twins are any different!

Ashton babysitting his sleeping baby brothers!

We have also had a big built in babysitter/helper in our house recently. Ashton has learned how to pick up and carry the babies around. He helps bring the babies to me, hold them when they are fussing and even watches them while I shower and get ready in the mornings. It is such a help having an older kid around! Weston is a little rough/wild helpful too, he just needs some help still when picking them up. We have found Cooper "wrestling" with Weston on a few occasions ;)
