It pays to pay!

This is how I felt this morning when my Pottery Barn package arrived.
New sheets=pure bliss.
Yes, this is a blog post about my (our) love of anything Pottery Barn.
Everything that we have ever gotten from there we have loved. Yes, you pay out the wahzoo (what is a wahzoo anyways?) but it is worth it for sure.
The service is great, the people are great and extremely helpful.
Ordering online is never a hassle.
I ordered our sheets only a few days ago and bam, here they are.
Ready to go quickly through the wash and onto our bed.
I think someday I will happily work at a Pottery Barn, and fill my house with all of the lovelies from their stores.
Thank you P.B. for everything.
I'm sure I will be seeing (or ordering from) you soon :)

I love baby showers!

The crew from church!
My good friend Zil and I were able to throw a fun shower for our friend Marla this weekend!
We had a good time planning for it, and decided to do brunch.
The food was delish, and everyone had a great time.
Congrats Marla, we are looking forward to meeting your new little man in a few weeks!

T's birthday celebration

We sent Tommy to spend the day with his friends to for lunch and a round of golf.
While he was gone the boys and I had fun choosing some party decorations and last minute things to have ready when he got home.
Our oven is getting repaired, so I was off the hook as far as a cake went.
I think T likes apple pie better anyways.
After golf and a quick shower for T our babysitter arrived to let us enjoy dinner and a movie.
Unfortunately we were both coming down with colds/severe allergies and could barely taste our Japanese food. The movie 'Date Night' was hilarious and a we loved the Steve Carrell/Tina Fey combo.
We raced home because we told Ashton he could stay up so that we could have pie and ice cream and let daddy open his gifts.
Cheers to turning 30!

Yes, we felt it.

On Easter Sunday we had a series of earthquakes, but one we definitely felt.
I was sitting on the floor and started feeling a light shake and just as I was about to say something Tommy goes " I think we are having an earthquake".
Right as he said that the shaking got worse and extremely loud. The whole thing lasted maybe 20-30 seconds.
There wasn't any damage and nothing fell off shelves or walls,
but it was definitely a little scary.

Easter 2010

We had such a great Easter/conference weekend.
It was so nice to be together as a family.
On Saturday morning, we put our chores aside and decided to walk to our local farmers market that is open every Saturday.
There was so much to look at and so much FOOD.
We were planning on going to lunch, so we skipped the snacks but couldn't pass up getting some yummy bread and pie from the Julian Pie Co. They had a booth set up, and fresh pies made that morning!
After the long walk home alternating pushing the boys in the stroller and carrying the pie, we all got ready and headed to the Japanese Market.
They have an eating area where you and order any authentic Japanese dish and it is amazing!
Saturday night right before the kids went to bed, Weston fell UP the stairs (he stepped wrong) and hit his cheek bone on the edge of the stair. He has a nice carpet burn that is finally starting to look better.
Tommy and I rented Sherlock Holmes and enjoyed a quiet night.
Sunday the boys got up and after attempting to let Tommy sleep in, I finally gave in and let them go wake him up.
Then they found their easter baskets at the front door, found some eggs and enjoyed some yummy treats (all day long)!

Kit Carson Park

Weston and Nolan

Weston and his cone

Weston walking around with a cone on his head. (Can you tell we have been watching Toy Story 2 a lot!)

Our good friends invited us to this amazing park on Friday and boy did we have fun.
Kit Carson park is a huge area that includes hiking trails, ponds, picnic areas, every sport field imaginable, an amphitheater and so much more.
All of the boys (5 total) enjoyed running and climbing, playing at the parks, riding bikes and most of all exploring the Queen Califia's Magical Circle.
It is a sculpture garden that features 9 freestanding sculptures created by Niki de Saint Phalle.
All of the shapes and creatures were child friendly and all of the kids climbed and admired the beautiful mosaic statues.
After 3 + hours in the sun we headed home both kids were satisfyingly exhausted :)
