Fun with our visitors!

Ashton was shielding his face from the rain, and would not look at the camera.
Jeff and Kathy came yesterday to visit us and we had a great time! Kathy's family lives about and hour and a half away from us, and they so kindly drove down to spend a few days here in San Diego. We went to a really yummy taco shop for lunch, and then headed to a boardwalk/beach area to walk around. Unfortunately the weather was a little cold and drizzly, so we piled back into the car and decided to drive around the "fancy" neighborhoods around La Jolla and Del Mar. The enormous houses were fun to see. When we got home the boys mauled Jeff some more and requested a wrestling match. They got tuckered out, and we put them to bed and had some adult time! We watched a movie and had some dessert and visited for a while (Jeff and Kathy and anyone else who wants a good laugh go HERE).

Today we got up and relaxed in our pj's all morning, then decided to slowly get ready. We made a stop at In n Out burger before Jeff and Kathy had to head back.
Thank you Jeff and Kathy for the fun visit (and for enduring the craziness of the kids). We hope to see you guys again soon!

A day at the beach!!!

Us with the Pier and ocean behind
Check out those palm trees!!!
This bird was beggin' for food right outside of the restaurant
Watching the surfers
Weston enjoyed his lunch

This was the HUGE park right on the beach. The boys got so sandy but it was worth it. They had so much fun and the water was right there. They played their little hearts out!

Weston decided that sitting on Daddy's shoulders wasn't fun enough. He kept trying to flip off. He is such a daredevil!

We decided to take a little drive to Oceanside today. The weather was nice and warm (around 65) and Tommy has this week off of work, so we are trying to take advantage. We walked straight down the pier which ended up taking about 15 minutes because the boys had to stop and see everything. A the very end there was a 50's style diner and we stopped to enjoy lunch and the view. The boys were recharged after a good meal and ready to play. We headed down to the park that was right on the beach and let the boys run wild. They got extremely sandy, but it was worth the mess.
After that we walked up the street to Dairy Queen and enjoyed a cool treat and then headed to the car to go to the Carlsbad outlet mall. It was so fun, but unfortunately I had had enough walking. I hurt my foot this morning on a run, and by store #2 could barely walk. I was so sad because it is such a fun outdoor mall. I hope to get back soon!!!

Christmas 2009

We have more video than pictures thanks to the new video camera from Santa, but these were a few cute ones. The pj's the boys are wearing are thanks to Grandpa and Mimi, and believe me the shorts were great! On Christmas eve we enjoyed a movie and yummy treats, opened our xmas eve jammies and then of course set out cookies for Santa. The boys both went to sleep without a hitch, and we went to work. Christmas morning they slept in until 8 and then excitedly came downstairs and went straight for their stockings. It was so fun to watch Ashton grab out everything and "show" it to us, and then Weston would do it too. We spent all morning opening gifts, then of course playing with the toys and of course we enjoyed homemade warm cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The rest of the day was spent relaxing, playing napping, eating, reading, and just enjoying the day.

Tommy has all of next week off, so today we stayed in our pajamas again and did NOTHING! It is GREAT! Hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying your time off.

All tuckered out

This is what happens when somebody decides to nap on his own terms.
Even though I put him in his comfy bed at his nap time while I got in a workout with Tony H., he decided that playing in his crib was more fun then sleeping in it.
This is how I found him right as we were ready to walk out the door. No bed, no pillow, nada. I'm hoping that his 10 minute snooze will tide him over until bedtime.
We still have a Christmas movie to watch, Christmas eve gifts to open (a.k.a. pajamas) and Santas cookies to set out. Maybe he will be EXTRA tired and sleep in in the morning?

BYU game

We enjoyed the BYU game in the comforts of our own home this year. We all dressed up in our BYU gear, and cheered them on! It was a fun night and glad we were warm in our house instead of in all of that crazy WIND. BYU destroyed Oregon and that was great!

is it really December?

This is how we spent our Friday afternoon in the middle of December.
I'm guessing your Friday, December 18th involved cold, snow and more snow, no?

I almost forgot...

I can't believe I almost forgot to post these pictures. I had so much fun running with my sister in the Draper Human Race 2009 5k. We both were super excited to do this race together, and were both dreading the cold morning. The race was suppose to start at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Unfortunately it started about 12 minutes late, which meant all of us runners standing out in the cold longer than we wanted to be. But soon we were off and running for a good cause! There were about 2000 runners (raising $50,000 for lds food bank) and my sister and I both took 8th place in our different age groups! We had so much fun and I'm glad we did it together. But hey sis, next year can we run our race in San Diego? I think it will be much WARMER!!

It could have been worse!

This is baby powder. Thankfully it's not formula, or make-up or lotion, or soap. At least our house has the overwhelming aroma of "new baby" and not something gross... especially Westons room.
I guess it's our own fault. We have put off taking the air mattress out of Westons room and getting his crib back inside resulting in a new favorite play area for the boys. They have loved rolling, jumping , climbing all over and occasionally sleeping on/in the temporary guest bed (for all of those who visited in October) . While Tommy and I got ready on Sunday morning, this is what our little rugrats were up to. Believe me it was absolutely everywhere. Weston looked like he had aged 50+ years because his hair was w-h-i-t-e- WHITE! There were traces of their steps throughout the house with smudges on the walls and sprinkles of powder throughout the carpet. Ashtons face says it all in the first picture. It's a mix between "Mom got the camera so I'm really not in trouble so here goes nothi'" to "I'm going to try my hardest to be silly and entertaining as to not get into as much trouble". Like the title of this post reads it could have been worse. I guess for now, I will stand-by discreetly with my camera, and hope that it never takes a turn :)

M&M world!!!

We decided to drive to Utah for Thanksgiving this year. It was nice being in the comforts of our own van, and we had so much room that we were able to pack literally everything! Not to mention the dvd player helped out immensely. But still it was a 10+ hour drive, and my only regret was doing it all in one day on our way out. Fortunately for us we had a little more time on our drive back and mad our way back slowly. We spent a day (and one night) in Vegas, stayed in the Excalibur and we were exhausted! We grabbed some dinner and brought it back to our rooms, got ready for bed and were all asleep by 8:30. The next morning we enjoyed a big buffet breakfast at the Luxor and then headed to M&M world. The boys had a blast and it gave them one last "run around" activity before being buckled back into the car for 5 more hours. It was fun and enjoyable for all of us.
