After an afternoon of running errands, Ashton and I stopped into Cold Stone for our favorite summertime treat; chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream. As you can see Ashton can't get enough and absolutely loves ice cream!!! I love spending time with my little guy and I'm really savoring these last few weeks of just him and I.

34 weeks

This is a week early, but I just had my 34 week check up today and everything went great. We are thankful that I haven't had to go on bed rest or start on any medication. With Ashton it was at 31 weeks so things are looking good! I am having a lot of contractions and there's not a lot of room on my lap for Ashton, but the end is in sight. We can't wait to meet this baby!

The fair

Tommy, Ashton and I decided to brave the crowds and ventures out to our local fair. It was scorching hot all day long, so we waited until about 8:00 to go. The weather was perfect and even though Ashton's bedtime had come and gone, he loved every minute of it. The only reason we really wanted to go was to let Ashton do the petting zoo. He loves animals so much that we couldn't pass up the opportunity of letting him actually interact with them. We bought some animal food and headed into the area with the ponies, goats and llamas. Tommy and I agreed that the food was a bad idea because the animals absolutely swarm and maul you to get some of the food. Ashton got a little intimidated with all of the goats crowding in on him (they were his size and bigger), so I dropped the food and just walked around and let Ashton pet all of the animals. He loved the tiny baby goats, but didn't much like the adult ones, especially when they stuck their faces in his face. It was fun getting out as a family and of course letting Ashton run out whatever energy he had left.

Ashton is very good at finding things to entertain himself when I'm getting ready in the mornings. I had never seen him do this though. I guess he found the vacuum in our closet and decided that it would be fun to ride.

Daddy's home!!!

Tommy has been out of town for the last few days and just got home last night. Ashton has not let him out of his sight and has been following him around everywhere. We had just gotten Ashton out of the pool and were letting him "cool off" in his diaper when he decided to have a wrestling match with his daddy. They are best buds and Ashton loves him so much!

Tommy surprised us last night by getting home a lot earlier than we were expecting. Ashton and I heard the doorbell ring and to our surprise it was Daddy! His shoes were left by the front door and Ashton had a great time standing in them. He tried to walk but they were just too heavy.

Do you like my "fro"?

After a long day of playing with friends and in the pool, this is what Ashton's hair looked like. He didn't mind though. As long as he got to splash in the bath before bed he was happy. Let's hope his full day of fun means we get to sleep in in the morning...doubtful.

Ashton isn't usually too interested in the tv. He likes watching movies in the car when we're out running errands, but he usually won't just sit down at home and watch a show. The other day I had the wonder pets show playing while he was following me around the house. After a while I noticed my little shadow had disappeared. I found him in the family room dancing to the theme song of the show, and when the song was over, he was out of there. It made me laugh because it was just so random. What would I do without him?!

Yes these are more pool pictures, but the story behind them actually is about the big black bucket. It's the bottom half to our paper shredder and Ashton discovered it a few days ago. He slides the bucket around and randomly picks up items in the house. One day I emptied from it a toothbrush, binky, measuring cup, remote control, shoe, and a few toys. He brought it out to the pool yesterday and filled it with his toys from the deck. Hey, whatever keeps him entertained right? So if you're ever here visiting and something comes up missing, check the big black bucket. Chances are it's hiding in there.
